The broken math of channel sales

Startups hire hundreds of reps with a stretched ramp because the partner network sits unused. Enterprise account executives often take about 18 months to ramp. Mapping and signal stay stuck in overlap-only tools, spreadsheets, manual mapping, or calls, emails, and texts. Venn is alliance-aware out of the box and hunts the next-right-action signal for newly hired account executives and channel / alliances teams. Win 2x deals via higher-quality leads. Venn does not just show partner overlap. It tells you the next partner action, not an overlap map.

Coverage got confused with conversion. Leadership asks for sourced pipeline. The spreadsheet says 4,000 touches. CRM says 10 opportunities.

Built for two motions that often run together: newly hired account executives (AEs) and sales leadership who need a daily path into accounts, and channel / alliances / partner-program teams who run the partner motion. Crossbeam itself now markets Partnerships and GTM Teams (including MCP) because account executives and partnership teams share one motion. Many teams run both.

Partners do not have to join Venn. PartnerTap already accepts CSV uploads, so 'partners don't need to join' is not unique. The difference is ranked warm paths, a ghost-written intro, live account signals, and BVA attribution in one workspace — partner participation stays optional.

Frequently asked questions

Why do partner programs show thousands of touches and almost no pipeline?

Because they count coverage (overlap, registrations, pings) as if it were conversion. Overlap is not an intro. An intro that never leaves the partner’s drafts is not a meeting. Pipeline only moves when a ranked path becomes a forwarded email.

What is the difference between an overlap report and a warm intro?

An overlap report says you and a partner both know an account — that is coverage. A warm intro is a forwarded email from someone the prospect already trusts — that is conversion. Overlap reports do not create meetings on their own because nobody ranks the path, drafts the email, or sends it. That gap is exactly where 4,000 touches turn into 10 opportunities.

Is this a Crossbeam or Reveal problem?

Not exactly. Hosted two-sided networks are good at bilateral overlap reporting when both partners are already on the platform. They are not built to rank warm paths on your account list, draft the intro, or attribute the meeting when the partner is not on the same platform.

What should a CAM report to leadership instead of touches?

Ranked warm paths on the target account list, intros sent, meetings from those intros, and pipeline attributed to the path. That is a conversion funnel, not an activity log.

Do partners need to be on Venn for the math to work?

No. Load your accounts and partner data. Venn ranks paths and drafts intros whether or not the partner is on the platform. Mutual adoption is optional.
